I honestly believe that she would do a better job being the protector of gensokyo if it meant a safer home for her husband and children and even more so with some little helpers at the shrine
As for me, i love japanese shrines (and grumpy girls) and would feel damn comfortable living in one even with youkai running amuck. i would also do my damn hardest to keep the Hakurei shrine in top condition
