Flandre isn't insane. Well, a little bit, but she's not lunatic.
She's intelligent enough to read books, make advanced deductions, and admit she's got some issues. In fact, she's probably smarter than the average joe.

However, unlike Remilia who had a decent upbringing, Flandre was most likely raised by her sister. And Remilia apparently did a really lame job.

You see, Flandre isn't insane, but she lacks in empathy. She has trouble understanding why people don't like playing wih her. Coupled to her power, it makes her extremely unpredictable, as she has no idea of how powerful she is, or how easily people die if she goes all out.

Therefore, by acting as a surrogate parental figure, by teaching her what's right and what's wrong, you can cure her.
Honestly, Flandre reminds me a kid who burns ants with a magnifying glass. By teaching her that life is sacred, and that you can have fun without endangering your "opponent", it's possible to cure her.
