I always see it as "If you get your laughs by pretending to be idiot, idiots will eventually take part of the joke seriously". Like people actually believing /b/ is the internet haet machine, /g/ is full of hackers, 'waifu' is a serious concept (and it makes you a superior being like some kind of akibaranger) and taking video games competitively serious.

I don't like Berserk because it is scary and violent. I watch anime and I read manga so that I can feel happy.

Why would I watch or read something that is violent and filled with suffering? If I wanted to see that then I could just move to Finland.

The creation of imaginary friends is one of the most marvelous things that the mind is capable of. It's a shame that there aren't more studies on them.

Just the thought that a person can create fully separate personalities within their mind that communicates with them. The power and independence that this would bring is unparalleled. Always surrounded by friends and people who love you, never lonely, and they're all creations of your mind so they can't betray you, die, or do any of the other unpleasant things that happens in regular relationships.

None of us will ever truly die.

My consciousness may fade away when this body dies, but everything that I am made of will return to the earth and when you look at a flower or an animal then you will know that part of me is now what makes up their body.

This body is an arrangement of many things that came before me and they will continue to be many more things after this body is gone. My consciousness is like a wave that forms in the ocean and then crashes against the shore. That wave is gone, but the water that made up the wave flows back to the sea and it will form into many more waves, each with their own unique shape but still made of the same water that made that first wave.

So what is your personal Gensokyo like?

Extremely varied and visually stimulating nature and environment with beautiful forests, waterfalls, plains, mountains and such?

Perpetual hostilities between residents for resources, ideology, and survival?

Peace among all residents and the extent of hostilities is joking demeanor and contrasting ideologies and personalities?

World of hedonism and joy with non-consequential pleasure and thriving social relationships with the other residents?

Personally, my Gensokyo is a concept that has been explored, but not as popular as it could be. It's like a secret club house, where only a few people in our world have access (although its more of them actually knowing about it rather than them having some arbitrary access, anyone can get it they just need to find out how). Every touhou is a person in real life, from any country and origin, any human being basically. They retreat to Gensokyo to unwind and have this whole nother world to explore and interact. Of course,in Gensokyo, magic is real and people are able to harness its power (in the real world, magic is different *according to who you talk to*). Every touhou has varying adaptations to having 2 worlds to live in. Some may hate Gensokyo and rarely visit, some are addicted and their real-world presences is minimal and extremely neglected. Some actually have no more presence in the real world and only live in Gensokyo. I love thinking about the emotional aspects of being in that kind of situation. How would you philosophically and emotionally evolve when you have this one world where you have all this power and influence compared to the real world and its limitations.

Have you had any touhou related dreams? What did it consist of?
