Most places will want a little Japanese. If you don't speak any Japanese at all, you'll most likely get a very limited roster if they even let you in. The guys at Dolce only gave me the option of 2 girls out of their entire roster until I started speaking Japanese and telling them I was willing to wait. Some girls also aren't comfortable with English and don't want to work with foreign customers. Tobita Shinchi (brothel area in Osaka) is a bit more foreigner friendly. If the mama-sans and the girls see you and call you to their shop, you'll most likely good to go.
