Video game reviews are excellent for learning some cool ass words. 聳 is not only my favorite Kanji to write, but is a genuinely great verb (聳える) with the added bonus of 聳立 being a cool (if oddly specific) word. Learned from a Super Mario Odyssey review. IGN sucks, but IGN Japan is surprisingly well-written since it seems there's zero expectations placed on the writers, so they get to do whatever they want. That also results in some very fun LISTENING practice (NO SUBTITLES TO CHEAT WITH) which some other anon posted some threads ago

This コーナー is not only fun as shit (and sure as hell would never work in the American version) but excellent mid-level listening practice for people who are tired of the news and scripted shit. This is natural Japanese in its purest form.
