The first Satoko 34 reference precedes the entire existence of Lambdadelta, and in Turn, when Lambda first appears, there were already several references to Satoko's character from Higurashi, while the connections to to Takano were only a name and a certainty theme.
Though as Takano was a complete failure when it came to "certainty", as shown in Matsuribayashi, while Satoko's certainty (she even says the z-word thrice in a row) during Meakashi actually led to her being rewarded (in a horrible twisted way) with her desires, I'd say that Takano really shouldn't be as connected to the whole "certainty" thing as people make her out to be.

With Gou/Sotsu, Ryukishi just dropped all pretence about who Lambdadelta was supposed to reference the most prominently.

Splitting up the story into separate time periods was a huge mistake, especially after Nao went back to Showa and Miyuki was left all by herself. All the stuff involving the Sleeping Sickness and Une just feels like it was invented to give Miyuki something to do while the real plot takes place in Showa, except for Kawata who just shows up wherever for reasons.
