Thanks guys you have been really helpful, I will pick up PCB and take a look at the Moedan thing if I get to laptop-out-of-window stage with it.

I think it was on Youtube that I read Touhou has a huge fanbase but not a lot of actual players... Well it was just someone's comment but looking at the actual games I can see why, they don't look particularly user-friendly at first!

But I'll give it a go and hopefully my next post on /jp/ might be a bit better informed. Thanks again guys!
