Pretty good, but I'd say bind brakes to focused movement and clutch to down. That allows you to move up and down with different feet while staying focused, in a similar way to heel and toe downshifting.

Now, consider the following:
Joystick for left and right, throttle for up and down, any button on the throttle for focus, C button on the joystick for bomb, and of course trigger for shooting.
