A dirt-poor couple of people suddenly got in the center of attention and earned some decent money, so they went on the money grind. Hopefully, TM matured a bit already, but it remains to be seen.

That's an unlikely hypothesis imo. Firstly, they clearly didn't do that in the first part (and it was a success), why do that in the second? And Secondly, it's just pointless.
If you mean by "tossing it out" you mean just rewriting a lot of stuff, it's very likely, but it is not at all the same as writing a new story.

>Nasu was never the bottleneck for development, and he especially isn't now.
That's pretty much my point. TM are spread thin on all the stuff they are doing and it is one of the main reasons for why it takes so long nowadays. Sure, new TM's standards are higher than before thus it is a given that it'd take more time to make a new VN, but that alone wont explain just how long it takes these days.

Hope, wasn't my point at all. It is quite the opposite, I'm saying that we'll probably won't see much content in years. That even though the Remake is a step in the right direction, they still seem to be lazy AF when it comes to creating new quality content. It might be a stretch, but one could say that VN'wise in the past 15 years all we've got in Mahoyo, and now it's only a remake. It's alright but being full of skepticism is how I feel. And it makes me wonder, what and when will be after the Remake. Mahoyo 2 in 10 years or some Tsuki2 in questionable format?

TL;DR
Lots of people here are hyped here about the Remake, but after finishing it I can't discard a feeling that we're still in the swamp.
