Wait, that's huge. This could finally reveal what decade Higanbana is supposed to take place in. Considering that digital cameras are non-existent and Rosa's company still exists, it has to take place BEFORE Umineko. There is also Shuuichi from the last chapter. He's around 30 in the present time and Nonomiya is still an student at the school, which means not that much time passed during the series. I believe his story took place in the late 50s or early 60s, meaning the normal Higanbana stories take place in the early 80s. There is already golden era anime on TV and Rosa's brand exists.

Conclusion: Higanbana takes place in the late 70s to early 80s. Obviously none of this is set in stone and it could be a different fragment where all this stuff happens to coincide with Umineko by chance. But if Ryuukishi put it there, even as a small cameo, he must have had a general idea for the timeframe of the story.

This author has some great Amakusa/Ange fics. They are susprisingly in-character and usually devolve into humiliation, such as being forced to strip naked, being raped by Amakusa or being ashamed of her pathetic body because it enjoys being raped. It's interesting how a totally unrelated author saw Ange's potential for humiliation long before humiliation anon.
