Sure, most of the technology is scifi shit, but the dissociative identity disorder is completely real and very accurate to how it work in real life. It's not something Ryuukishi came up with. Other stories tend to exaggerate it based on stereotypes and shit, but this is one of the few where it's been portrayed accurately.

Now, the term CPP is fictional and made up by Ryuukishi. It refers to Congenital Parallel Processors (meaning that they were naturally born with DID and therefore their multitasking ability, also called parallel processing, is really damn good). That all it means. It's not a real term.

But CPP just describes someone who was "born" to be a parallel processor because they literally have two separate consciousnesses and can coexist at the same time if they want to. The term is made up for the purposes of the fictional military in Ciconia, who are searching for people capable of perfect multitasking, but DID itself is a real thing.

They characters are just using CPP to refer to DID itself because they don't want to be rude to people like Miyao and call it a "disorder". The terms are not equivalent, since the first refers to their natural ability to multitask while the second refers to the disorder itself.

I hope I made it clear. I believe this shit will be really important to understand if you want to solve all the mysteries presented here.
