more specifically, those who put people down for the content they consume.

People have their own preferences, not everyone's into TouHou for the hard games.

Things such as this are what drive people away from one's own community; it's self destructive behavior.

I would be far from surprised if many of these so called "primary fans" have never consumed any of the content without an intermediary of any sort (such as a translator).

Live and let live, there's much more things to enjoy than to bother other people and act in such elitist ways. It's petty and childish.
