People want someone they can relate their culture shock and issues unique to themselves to, so why not others in the same boat? You can still want to be there but also want the comfort of viewpoints and attitudes you're already used to.

That being said as the devil's advocate, I don't agree with that approach at all. I got a windfull of that shit when I first moved to the US, and I feel it just places an artificial barrier between both integration and cultural understanding. I've known people in the US who, after a decade, still don't 'fit' and can't go without leaning on their own immigrant community, and with time I'll be able to say that about here too.

Just to keep this thread on topic (sorry!), lets lament the HEAVY downsizing planned by JR Hokkaido. If you're a fan of derelict lines, now is your chance...
