don't do this though, aquarium heaters are designed to be submerged and don't have good regulation in the air as you've found out

I tried to put a thermostat into one of the normal warmers, which worked, though my simple analog circuit didn't have hysteresis, frying the MOSFET and taking out one of my favorite holes with it

a sizzling onahole is NOT okay

I disassembled the warmer again this morning so I could adjust how the LED was attached (my slightly drunk self attached it to a stupid place last night that reduced performance).

The gold-tipped item on the left is the thermistor. It's positioned so it pushes against the plastic wall. You are right in that the thermal conductivity though the plastic isn't that great and so it will start cycling before your onahole is hot. I considered embedding it in the plastic itself but it works well enough this way.
