I can imagine Youmu having a sort of crush on Sakuya due to her coolness and her proficiency with blades. I can see a doujin plot start with Youmu pleading to be coached by/spar with Sakuya and have their relationship move on from there.

I don't know but it's popular. I guess you can find similarities in them being a servant type character and one uses swords while the other shoots bullets. I started UdonMyon with Tamagoyaki and Koyama Shigeru and got hooked that way.
