Although she may not be one of my personal favorites, I've always loved this about Sanae.

Sanae's simple, cheerful and slightly air-headed personality contrasts nicely to many of the other characters. Her standard Japanese keigo, too, makes everyone else seem so rude.

In that way she really feels like a piece of the outside world, like she really clashes against everything, even if she by no means is a typical outsider human.
