When I first entered the franchise and played a couple of the games, I found the general design of things sufficiently interesting that I wanted to know more of the story behind Gensokyo - see what its denizens did with their daily lives rather than what happened on the rare occasion that they needed to shoot each other up. This was back in 2007, so PMiSS and Nature Deities and all the rest of the official shit had little to no TL work done on the Wiki, but a good number of BAiJR articles had been translated. Aya ended up being my gateway to Gensokyo plot, and she immediately stuck to me as a result. Both fanon and canon have morphed her into a troll of sorts over time, which I find really amusing.

It helped that Shoot the Bullet was (and still is) my favorite game, and PoFV coming in second gives me more access to her.

It also helps that she's really fucking hot.
