Ah, your entire post can be summarized in one sentence; posters here are bored. And boredom is dangerous indeed.
While it does sound like the most logical solution, I don't agree with threads dying just because there is nothing to discuss. I believe they should be maintained somehow, even by relying on shitposts if you have to. If a random anon doesn't find the thread today, chances are higher he won't check it tomorrow. Repeat this everyday across several months and you'll be left with a ghost town, with people who've lost interest overtime because there's nothing to talk about. So no, even if there's no content, threads must remain.

And reporting is also an issue. Now I'm not saying you shouldn't report, far from it. But so many reports will attract unwanted attention and even result in entire threads getting deleted like last time.
It is precisely as you say, with no content only shitposting remains, and that's only going to get worse. So then what must we do?
Ah, I'm afraid my humble opinion is most likely rather unpopular here, so I'll keep it for myself.
However know that the notorious shitposter before you used to be just like you, fighting against shitposters in genuine passion and love for this place. That's all I'm going to say, I'll leave the rest for you.
