There's not really much to maintain, the inside of a camera is either electronics or full-on clockwork, there is next to zero user serviceabilty.
Otherwise I agree, it's nice to see them happy doing everyday things. Anyone can go to an amusement park and have fun, but only really happy people can find joy in day-to-day tasks.
