I yawn, fiddling with papers, reading and rereading, trying to distract my mind. Eirin has had stellar results in creating a triple-way egg that should resist more than a normal one—or, best-case scenario, be ignored—being gapped. Still, I'll have to keep immense concentration to stop any loose gaps from killing it before it turns into a morula. Amuses me how intensively Eirin is focusing on the research—all those words of morals easily forgotten. Hm, hypocrisy.

There's also my new pawns, Seija and Goro…

And, I'll admit, they scared me at first—closing a gap of mine is no small thing. In any other situation, I would've exploded Seija's head and eaten Goro alive, but I saw an opportunity. Knowledge, then usefulness. It's funny to think how I got the first. Men are so easy~all you need to do is press your breasts on them, and they don't even notice you probing their cursed bracelet and stealing a piece of its… hm… 'soul'?

I giggle, playing with the translucent red skull at my fingertips like a coin, its influence safely contained by a gap. To think I'd never have access to such energy through normal means: bowing down to Okina, morphing into the image of a child, and sexually serving the Matarajin… Ugh, the horror.

Indeed, the plethora of things I can mold this infinite cursed energy into—blending it into my gaps so they can't close them again; create barriers with such powerful curses they doom people's souls by mere contact. Seija seems able to control it to a degree with the broker's help, but that’s just the surface of this ocean. This energy on the hands of someone who can dominate it… My, my.

Also, it seems I won our 300 years old bet. Hope she has trained her tongue~

I giggle, sending the cursed thing to the depths of the gaps, where it safely awaits testing.

… My pregnancy is on the horizon, more hopeful and sure than ever; I've acquired power, pawns, and trade coins; and my business is going on steadily.

It's good to be on top of the world—

Then all my defenses are screaming, and I fall from my chair.

Okina's backdoor appeared on the HSE—is she attacking? Already?!—with no delay, I catch my parasol, open a gap, and go to the reception of the HSE, expecting to be face-to-face with my sister sage—

What I see is much, much worse.

"Wow… So many Reimus!" Flan excitedly says, eyes shining, crystal wings swinging up and down. The room is frozen, Ran has fallen on her buttocks, eyes wide. "I want a Reimu costume too~! Oh, hi, Kari!" Flandre is openly staring at me. The clientele rushes towards the nearest emergency exit. Those who don't know who Flan is followed the herd, an even worse reaction than what the Flower Maiden is capable of…

Why did Okina bring her here?! She normally isn't so direct. Is this her idea of a sick prank? Dropping Gensokyo's most unstable nuclear device in the middle of the Human Village…

It sounds exactly like the Matarajin I know.

Ran got up, looking at me with despair as Flan happily skipped to me, ignoring the commotion. "H-Hi… Flandre—where's your sister?"

"Remi doesn't know I'm here!" She says as she opens her arms. I freeze, but my logical mind immediately comes to the forefront, and I hug her. Not doing so, making her mad… No. "Kina said I could come and play with you and Anon! Gaah, it's so nice to hug you~so soft!" She laughed out loud, a cooling sound of death, rubbing her cheeks on my cleavage. I laugh, throwing a stare at Ran. She nods before racing out to calm the workers and stop any panic; word should be already spreading about Flan being here. And, mainly, Ran should make one thing clear to everyone: 'do NOT approach Flandre.'

"Why were everyone dressed like Reimu?" She asks, leaving the hug and wandering to the doors—she hits the barrier that doesn't see her as a client, confusedly massaging her forehead. I was about to lay the barriers down, but they exploded in red-scarlet hellfire, and Flan walked inside.

I sighed… It'll take at least twenty hours to rebuild that.

"It's to emulate the experience of being a miko, like Reimu—wait, Flan—"

"Oh! I want to dress like Reimu too!"

Saying 'we don't have an outfit for you' seemed like a death sentence, so I decided to play smart: "We're already making you your outfit, Flan-chan—" I sent Ran the message through a gap. She sends back '1h30m'. So that's the time I need to distract her for. "—it'll take roughly an hour more—sorry. Do you want to see the attractions before we go meet Anon?"

"Attractions?! Like those of amusement parks I see in comics?!" Her eyes shine bright red, as do her cheeks. I nod, "YES!" She laughs out loud before coming for a second hug, little arms around me a frown away from ultimate death…

… Despite that, it's weird how reciprocating the hug makes her little heart beat faster and her laughter louder and sillier.

Does she feel such joy in being hugged back? It's a small thing, yet it fills me with warmth.

Who'd think a nuclear device could be so cuddly?
