I'm inclined to agree even though that would require some basic kanji and vocabulary knowledge. It's very hard to have a coherent reading experience if you have to look up every 2nd kanji or so. But either way, doesn't your point also pertain to Anki? Won't there be a break between you adding the currently relevant material to your deck and reviewing it?
