I did always feel bad for him. Drinking, Dreaming Moon is an excellent sendoff for the series while it's on hiatus. I'm glad I got around to it after the Melty Manga.

Yep, everything about it is so lifeless, it just feels disconnected and low effort all around. A lot of it is cause of the awful medium, mobage were not meant to tell a story with endearing characters, much less a long term one that spans years.
I believe that they could do better with adapting a story to a gacha game now that they have this experience, but that's still not what I want at all. In a real Nasu work you're always following the protagonist closely, living with their thoughts, facing every day's challenges with them, getting used to their routine, and witnessing their interactions with other characters, It's not left as "background" shit or fanfic bait. FGO just fails at being a proper main TM work on so many levels.
