As a group, not even, as an INDUSTRY the whole 48/46 thing is huge for sure, arguably the biggest thing in Japan and is sprawled all over Asia.

However, as individual members, they are completely replaceable and totally faceless, there are literally hundreds of them in AKB48 alone. They're like KFC franchises that are across the street from each other, the main company is getting all the money and recognition but individually they're wasting away.

Plus, I don't have to imagine anything, they sold out back-to-back shows at the budokan, and at the saitama super arena. That's not nothing.
