The portable support works very well with Zero Escape, Ace Attorney and Danganronpa. I can't see why it wouldn't with Higurashi and Umineko if both were ported in a proper way instead of the unofficial method which exists. (VNDS)
Sitting for hours on PC is difficult if you only read whereas programming or playing vidya is okay. I don't know how for my first read of Higurashi and Umineko I managed to do it, but nowadays I can't anymore. I'm probably getting older.

I re-read Umineko in VNDS interpreter and some things didn't work very well such as slashing effects not transitioning as smoothly as they do in the PC version. Among other little other issues. I hope you're not reading it for the first time, as it could be a huge turnoff for the battles. I know it's not the main appealing factor behind Umineko but still
