I don't know man, I think Miyabi did okay. You can't really compare it to a piano because playing a note is a mere press of a key. You don't have to worry about finding the pitch, putting pressure on the string and actually striking it. When I started playing guitar even merely pressing a string was hard and hurt like a bitch after a few minutes, though I don't know how a shamisen compares in that aspect. Of course it wasn't exceptional, but considering it was just a week, I feel like you're being a little harsh.
