I felt like an idiot for believing "Hidden Star in Four Seasons" would feature characters like Letty, Lily, the Akis, and Yuuka at least in some capacity. I thought for sure there was no way ZUN wouldn't at least include them as midbosses (like Lily ended up being). But HSiFS came and went, and though we got Reimu's Dog and the Keener, the seasonal Touhous didn't show up and I felt like a moron for ever thinking they'd be there in the first place.

I can't get hurt believing in a fairytale again, I don't want to believe he's actually bringing Mima back. All the coincidences with Marisa mean nothing, and they keep trying to link them to Chireiden and Satori instead. If he was going to bring Mima back, he would have done it a decade ago with Alice and Yuuka.

It'll be some newhu who won't matter and will be less popular than even Kosuzu and Whaletits.

Yukari's set up here is pretty much spelled out by Mamizou when she's preparing to fight the scroll youkai.

Yukari tells Kosuzu that Reimu is coming for her and asks her what she thinks about Youkai. Kosuzu says they aren't all bad. Yukari then tells her she came to save her at a time where Mamizou and Aya are threatening her, and she feels like she can't trust Akyuu, Marisa, and Reimu completely. Kosuzu runs off afterward with the scroll.

Next time we see Kosuzu, she is completely possessed, without her name on her outfit, saying things that don't really jive with the conclusion she reached re: youkai. So she's clearly been manipulated by Yukari into getting possessed by the scroll, likely under pretense that whatever Yukari does will "save" her (Yukari probably didn't tell her exactly what would happen). The scroll is probably working off of Kozusu's internal conflict and her memories somehow.

Reimu immediately pinpoints the fact that Yukari manipulated Kosuzu into doing this, and that it was Yukari's decision, not Kosuzu's (which Yukari is planning on). Which means Kosuzu isn't directly responsible for what's happened to her. Since it's Yukari's fault, Reimu thus doesn't kill Kosuzu, who is an important liaison into the village for youkai to help maintain a semblance of balance and influence so one group doesn't get too powerful (i.e. Aya's newspaper). Reimu makes Mamizou destroy the scroll youkai but not harm Kosuzu. This is the big point here. Mamizou remarks that if she was making the call on her own, she'd just kill Kosuzu because she wants the scroll. Remember, she just came out and threatened Kosuzu about it to try and intimidate her into getting the scroll because she wants it. But since she knows Reimu will legitimately kill her if she hurts Kosuzu, she has to back off and just take care of the youkai. Mamizou thinks she can get it to possess one of her minions instead but somehow I don't think that will work out for her.

Reimu goes to exterminate Yukari (who is probably bluffing with "that threw off my calculations" because she could just deny it if she was really hoping for her to kill Kosuzu), who will likely willingly lose like she does in WaHH. Thus the final effects are twofold: Mamizou doesn't get her hands on an immensely powerful scroll which she was really close to obtaining, and Kosuzu is saved, now becoming someone else Yukari can easily talk to and influence.

Gap slut always win.

Dumb smelly Tanuki hag always LOSE
