I don't use OS X, I use Linux so I'm not 100% sure.

On Linux we have the ntfs-3g driver, which lets us read/write NTFS(windows) partitions. I'm pretty sure OS X should have a port of this particular driver, or at least something similar. I can't help you any more than this though, maybe a friendly macfa/g/ will be so kind.

Or you can use FAT32. Be ware that the filesize limit for FAT32 is 4GB, so you cannot have any files larger than 4GB on this partition. (you can split files in multiple rar archives to overcome this though)
