Currently, I've spent the time digging through other touhou fangames to make up a cohesive bestiary for the next Suika Fortress (alongside the existing yukkuri, sukusukus, youkai, and standard touhou enemies like bakebake and kedama; the end goal being that the base game will be able to run without most of DF's creature files, but said files can be added into the game on demand for full compatibility with vanilla DF - you can have both dwarves and fairies at the same time, as well as mod the game further if you're that sort of person); mostly the RPG games. Some possible candidates so far:

Matango (Four-eyed mushroom with a purple tongue. From the The Genius of Sappheiros)
Usagator (Alliagator with giant eye brows. From Touhou Mother)
Gedoh (Odd white stick-figure with a knife. From Touhou Mother.)
Mischievous-looking rabbit (A sneaky mallet-wielding rabbit who is up to no good. Drops said mallet when butchered, and is a building destroyer. Especially annoying when playing as fairies, who won't try to kill them on-sight like the suika. From 2hu Agband)
Creeping copper coins (From 2hu Agband. Uses the same sprite as coins in the tileset. Beware of random piles of money!)
Wololhand (Laybrinth of Touhou creature. Though, I don't even know what it is, other then the fact its name is so distinctive)
Volcanus (From 2hu hack & slash. I don't know what this really is either, having never played the game)
Skyfish (Floating eel-like creature that is oddly fire resistant. From Tendou Blade)

Most of the base files will exist from Dwarf Fortress even without merging; creatures like elephants, rhesus macaque, giant dingos will be just as annoying to the suika as they are to the dwarves, and fairies might have the fortune to befriend and utilize these various natural monstrosities as part of their defense racket to offset their frailty.

On the topic of what I've done today, I'm now working on converting the Suika to actual playable status again. I also gave fairies crayons.
