Well, alcohol poisoning occurs at a threshold of alcohol consumption well beyond that of normal intoxication. There are factors which impact alcohol poisoning for different individuals, notably weight, sex and prior alcohol tolerance. Perhaps Marisa's immunity to poison occurs only at doses where such-and-such a toxic chemical is consumed in toxic doses based on her metabolism?
