5) Don't be friends with with smartass jerk. If he constantly makes fun of you or bullies you or makes too many "jokes" about you then stop talking to him immediately.
6) Don't be friends with a dead fish. If he doesn't want to talk about absolutely anything you can stop trying. His ice isn't going to crack for you. All he really wants is someone to be on the other side of the chatbox. He makes a poor friend.
7) Don't be friends with someone who pretends to have mental problems just to try to "fit in" with what he believes the average /jp/er suffers from.
8) Don't be friends with obvious crossboarders. You might be the butt end of a long running joke...
9) If you find a friend, never agree to talk to his friends and make more friends that way, it will never work out.
10) If you find a friend, don't talk every day. Pace yourself properly.

I hate joining a server which has a pre-existing friend circle. The circlejerking is immense and I feel like an awkward outsider and can't build anything because I'm being scrutinized by them.

I had that unfortunate experience once. I can't build anything without the friendcircle complaining how my building looked like t-rex tits and everyone laughing. IT WASN'T T-REX TITS. I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW THEY GOT TO THAT CONCLUSION. They were probably just trying to be funny to each other. Faggot pricks.
