Conflicting terminology - I defined 'strength' as a physical attribute, as in the ability to excert force and lift heavy objects. Your definition is more of a classification of overall ability in all fields.

What I meant to say is that the ability to manipulate boundaries isn't a level of ability at a particular point in a spectrum - it's a separate ability with its own spectrum of proficiency.
A better comparison than eyes and ears would be flight - animals with wings developed for flight have differing levels of the ability to fly, but they all have the ability of flight. Animals without wings do not.
