The point is spelled out to you almost every time they introduce themselves. It's the limited-to-the-period-of-growth-unit-Sakura-Gakuin. It's about watching them come of age, growing from timid girls to confident young women. It's about molding them into super ladies, whether that's in entertainment or not (like nursing). It's about building their self-confidence and teamwork, pushing them to discover their hidden talents and passions, and letting them decide what they want to do after. That is one of Sakura Gakuin's more endearing qualities.

The point isn't to make them into adult idols, which would be a depressing notion if I'm being honest. Amuse doesn't necessarily want that either, or they would have set up a group of their own they could move the graduates into.

Also, Sakura Gakuin itself makes money which is the bottom line.
