I only checked out SG because I was curious about where the BM phenomena came from. I don't watch and even hate idol stuff honestly, but SG became my comfort food and made me less prejudice of modern Japanese pop, and culture in general, and has helped me learn more conventional Japanese and what it's like growing up there today.

I must confess I've always been a bit disappointed they never did go for another BM type of break out project and that the hope of something like that happening has honestly been the carrot for me (hoping Ayami, Aiko, onefive and now Marina takes it to the next level).

But this news hits like a cold shower and I just feel empty and numb, not sure what to think about it. There isn't any other group like this that I've any interest in, and that's fine with me really, I'm not an idol/loli/waifu/weeb faggot, but I just don't know where to go for learning more about modern day Japan that also gives me a candid look behind the scenes of their entertainment industry in a non-fucked up bleak artificially-redpilled documentary fashion.

In any case I know this, grab and backup all the content you can RIGHT NOW. There's a lot of stuff already been lost as the fandom has kind of tapered off and it will become nigh impossible now that the group is going defunct and people will stop maintaining their shared content. This stuff will get lost forever if we don't save it, Japanese companies flat out don't give a fuck, never have and it's all dead and gone in the past to them (speaking from experience as a Showa fan here).

I just hope that SG won't be scrapped, they might need to "cut the fat" and since SG (nor BM and Perfume for that matter) was mentioned in the Amuse new management and roadmap meeting but others where and Morisen anonced on last Fresh that some staff will be leaving I'm starting to feel a little concerned.

Also, the whole (road to) graduation/transfer gimmick that is central to SG have be fucked up for this nendo's year and I can't see how they can make up for it.

BM is done, it's over. And honestly everybody knew this day would come once they got older given the gimmick, sure we could have been without all the Amuse/Kobra fuckery at the end but that this would happen sooner than later isn't a surprise to anyone.
The girls a famous now and can go on to other things and even if that is some shitty burriko/moe/waifu crap that gives you cancer just enjoy the great BM we got, all good bands/acts keep being enjoyed and rediscovered long after they're gone.

However I'm very skeptical if Amuse can pull a success like BM out of SG again, say what you will about Kobe but he broke rigid Jap entertainment rules and created something phenomenal in the process, does Amuse have another producer like Koby that they are willing to take a risk on?
