You see, drifting apart in high school is a very easy thing to do.
It happens all the time and Satoko and Rika were prime examples of such a falling out.
No one was at fault here, there's no "villain" and "victim" in this scenario.
Satoko shouldn't have opposed Rika's new friends from the get-go and tried to socialize with them instead of completely disregarding Rika's position and feelings right away, and she could've accepted Rika's offers of help instead of getting defensive.
Rika should've reached out to Satoko more forcefully if she treasured their relationsip and could've tried to understand her position as well.
But none of that happened, and that's okay. These kinds of things are natural. Not every friendship can survive forever.
