In that scenario Hinamizawa Syndrome research was being dropped. It was either sacrificing someone else for Satoshi or letting the Satoshi she just learned was alive die. I think that could be written in a way that would push her to killing for him, especially when Shion already died for that, so she could see it as going back to her too (because she did nothing other people acted for her). Of course, in "Limit", that's all a last minute plot-twist, so there's really no rationalization or anything, just her talking about how Shion failed but had the right idea and then evil face.

>More importantly, this is the ending of Matsuri, where it's shown she does the same Satoko babying shown in Minagoroshi anyways, apparently even more so than before.
The epilogue in the VN actually points out that it doesn't work though. Of course, it's in the middle of happy music, so you aren't meant to take this very seriously, but still.

>Obviously not canon but it does show he approves of the idea that Rika could have been less passive about things, which is exactly what Rika was in Matsuri.

I don't think using Kataribanashi really helps your point, when it had stories about Shion and Satoko becoming murderous after Matsuri.

>Given her situation and the fact that Minagoroshi was such a perfect fragment in her mind, she should have taken all the necessary precautions rather than having very minimal security against the potential threat of the yamainu and foolishly hoping she could escape once they started attacking her tiny little shack, hell she didn't even know the rest of her friends would come to help her.
Well, she didn't actually think they'd openly expose themselves and kill cops to get to her... which was kind of dumb since this was after she already knew they were willing to kill the entire village.

>Yes, but it's the fact that Higurashi ended there (after Saikoroshi) as well as showing that characters remember past arcs
Remembering past arcs was a much bigger element in Minagoroshi though. There's Mion, like you pointed out, but she does that to one point or another in every arc post-Meakashi. Meanwhile, Rika explicitly could remember nothing from Minagoroshi and was just following her trust in Hanyuu.
