The moriyas weren't exactly helping, they just set up the hole directly below their shrine and let Utsuho manage the reactor by herself, and according to her battle dialogue with Suwako, Okuu does constant checkups and status reports of the hydrogen atoms to see if they're still fusing nicely and shows these results to Suwako, meaning it is explicitly something exclusively for the sake of the moriyas and she's an employee.

If Utsuho left her old job for her new one then something must have happened that took priority over what actually benefitted her master's home in hell: either her own decision to pursue uses of her new power in benefit or a straight up payback demand by the moriyas for giving her her power. So she could do that again after losing her job with the moriyas and seek out other positive uses of her power and knowledge, like being a teacher.
