really depends on what workflow works for you; flstudio, logic, pro tools and reason are relatively easy DAWs to get started with.

Ableton's got a slightly steeper learning curve but it's far more versatile (also its the industry standard for live performance so yeah)

If you're looking for something free, you can try tracker software (8bit, chiptune music stuff) like famitracker or Renoise; or you can -try- to use mixcraft and make your living a living hell with a poorly optimized workflow
