Not really. If it was, they would have included Shirou's monologues. UBW was really obvious with what's wrong with Shirou; you don't really see that in the anime except for some scenes. Also iirc the last stardust sequence was anime-original, as was most of Episode 25.
Personally, I liked the UBW anime and the HF trilogy. That said, I can't really call them satisfactory replacements for the VN, especially with Fate usually being skipped over by most anime-onlies. If you want the complete F/SN experience, it really is better to read the VN.

It was alright with nice moments like pic related.
I still love Rin's episode, it's a nice introduction.
The HF movies were way worse in that regard.

It had internal monologues for the important introspection parts. His character still manages to shine through. Plus there are other advantages that the medium gives, like actually SHOWING his disturbing reactions at times. I watched it immediately after reading the vn and found it to be the most faithful vn adaptation I've seen.
