I don't think there is a database like you have on music in jpopsuki. Just dig around akiba-online and gravure blogs, they often have at that one working link.

Sometimes being a freeloader just means you have to put up with the annoyances. Though as someone who currently does old newspaper scanning for work I would say that scans are a derivative work with their own skill requirement, and especially with out-of-print magazines/photobooks there should exist a digital database or they tend to become obscure.
