On the topic of community shit, how are randoms even supposed to get involved in a community these days?

This isn't a rage post or anything, I'm genuinely asking.

No one on discord gives a shit if you weren't already in their in-group, people on twitter don't want conversations, all the old forums like Kig-O and Eurokig are long dead, all the old personal websites you used to link eachother, post content to and talk to others via have been dead long enough to be in a museum.

In the current day, what's left? Hoping you bump into a kig at a con and praying they invite you into the fold?
