I think there's also just the more juvenile humour aspect of deliberately giving the incorrect answer and Shoko happens to be a popular/well-known actress that people know is the wrong answer. In that regard, I feel like replying with her name has been around long before she ruined her face but I don't doubt that it's since taken on some of the flavour you described
