That's all a matter of culture. Hippies are nothing like medieval mongol soldiers, but that doesn't change the fact that they're still the same species. Things can even change very rapidly; just compare modern-day Japan to Japan 100 years ago. As a society, they're nothing alike. That kind of change can happen in a century in a single culture group; Phyrexians started an entirely new culture. They're still Phyrexians. "Phyrexia" as a society did not survive, but "Phyrexians", the species, did.

I dunno, I think many Servants would lose to an Eldrazi. Those without an anti-fortress or better NP are fucked, really. Those with can do as you said, though.
