I don't disagree. Upscaling images like that is more of a novelty than anything else. It honestly looks too smudgy overall.

I'm trying to be optimistic about this though. If Haro's right and they're keeping it limited to just a few pieces of art where they no longer have access to those higher resolution images, then I'm down with that so long as it doesn't look bad.

Going through the CGs on exhentai and upscaling them--some of the CG respond pretty badly to waifu2x, so I'm hoping it isn't entirely a case of upscaled images. You could probably clean this up with a decent amount of effort, but as it stands it's smudgy as fuck.

The one they posted on Twitter didn't look bad though.
