I think humiliation is a beautiful philosophy, no joke. It's not corruption of the perfect or degradation of the proud. On the contrary, it's a celebration of cuteness and human dignity by reminding us of how special those qualities are, reminding us that deep down humans are pathetic and yet they achieve such greatness.

By bringing up the fact that Satoko is a dirty animal that shits but still considering her cute and desirable, humiliation anon is drawing attention to her good qualities and praising the fact that she's so adorable and lovable despite everything. Despite her true nature. Even though humans are so flawed, Satoko is such a great person that we might even forget she farts or has selfish desires or negative emotions.

Humiliation anon is telling us to remember that. Don't take her good qualities for granted, remember it's coming from a dirty evolved ape. And appreciate the fact that she's so perfect despite it, appreciate how much it's worth. In order to do that, you must be consciously aware of her humanity and never forget she's a shameful human. Only then can you truly understand how amazing she really is.

I've noticed that Ryuukishi's so-called repetition and occasional bad pacing isn't nearly as bad in the original versions of the novels. Everything is so charming and the text is displayed quickly all over the screen in neat and purposefully chosen paragraphs. I barely notice when those writing flaws pop up.

In the remakes however... Jesus. The cheap, generic look of everything, the less than charming facial expressions, the voices grinding the pacing to a halt even in tense/quick scenes, the sound effects having no impact (RIP ahaha.wav) and especially the prose being ruined because all the text is trapped in a tiny textbox at the bottom, with hard cuts in the middle of lines and a complete absence of the original wall-of-text paragraphs (the way text is divided in a page is part of the heart of any book and especially VN, it influences the way you read and interpret the text). You can't just take away the author's prose and jumble it all together in a tiny box.

Again, RGD has no problem with this because it was written with the text box in mind. In the case of Higurashi and Umineko, you are taking the text and forcing it into a format it wasn't written for.

All this stuff makes the text really tiring to read, which makes some repetitive or badly paced parts stand out A LOT more. In my case, it goes from barely noticeable to pretty annoying. It does a disservice to Ryu's writing and artificially highlights the flaws. No wonder discord trannies have a hateboner for the man's prose, they are all advocates of the bastardized patched versions.
