It's enough that rather then feeling annoyed for those who don't play the main series, choosing rather to just read/listen to the fan materials, I feel more like they are missing out.

Even if you play exclusively on easy mode, the music sounds better when accompanied by the game itself. Nitori's theme Candid Friend is one of my favourites (again because it seems to get the mood of her character well) and I have trouble listening to it outside of her boss battle. The whole experience is better fighting her. This is especially true for Utsuho's theme Nuclear Fusion, alone it's ok but barely compares to the experience of actually hearing it with the sirens and explosions, dodging her suns in a thrilling boss fight.

At best I can only play up to Hard level at the moment, I can complete Normal mode, Hard rarely but it's something to work on, I imagine the effect is increased on Lunatic. The patterns look better the harder it is.

As previously said, ideally people should concentrate less on the flavour powers each youkai is given and quit comparing their strengths. It's a fairy tale setting and strength is very situational to the story being told, in a world where it's entirely feasible to steal a whole season the individal powers of the strongest of these isn't really that important.

Yuyuko gets a fairly good rep in this regard really, people concentrate more on a joke about her gluttony rather than her ability to call people to their deaths. It's over done like most Touhou joke aspects, but we don't see as much faggotry over her being strong.

I love Yuyuko personally, I think she's a pretty neat character when you get down to it. Able to keep up with Yukari's schemes she feigns a ditzy ghost personality to cover her actions, anything she does is often seen as a silly whim with little purpose. Plus, say what you like, she is pretty attractive on her own.

Perfect Cherry Blossom was my first Touhou game and Yuyuko is still my favourite boss fight from the series.

I love PCB, you stroll along the first two levels thinking 'this isn't so bad', get to stage three and the difficulty goes up a little but still simple enough for your first time, music improves you are really enjoying yourself and lose a few lives on Alice out of inexperience. Then you hit the wall that is stage 4. These days I don't lose lives on that stage and it taught me to stream and how most the bullets worked, but the first time you do it it's pretty 'FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUCK' and then scraping through with bombs and getting fucked up because 'SPRING HAS ARRIVED MOTHERFUCKER' you finally make it to the Prismrivers. Music is awesome, boss fight is awesome and if you're new to the series it's FUCK YOU time. I love the last three stages of PCB now, Yuyuko being my favourite for how perfectly Border of Life fits with the drawn out fight or tight dodging and OH GOD THE BUTTERFLIES.
