Okuu clearly wasn't herself when she was threatening to destroy everything. Taking in so much power and not being able to contain it is the reason she caused the geyser after all. It probably drove her crazy trying to keep it inside of her and not releasing it. Think of what happens with an actual Sun's fusion and how it continuously grows and eventually explodes. The only thing that keeps it from exploding is gravity. Okuu doesn't have that, her power probably just wants to explode and kill her and everyone around her.
