OK, I am fine with your bananas. I don't think the manga is superior. It's much worse than the VN.
But I still thing the manga is the truth

Meta narrative is inconsistent by its very nature. As soon as Dlanor, Erika, Will and other mystery characters are introduced, it's clear that we have shifted from the fantasy narrative of EP1 - EP4 to a self-aware narrative that acknowledges itself as a mystery story written by real life authors. And then it shifts again to become a reflection of people's thoughts and consensus on what happened on Rokkenjima, which Ange has to fight against and eventually create her own truth.

I see nothing wrong with it. It's a very intentional move by Ryuukishi. Everything pre-Chiru can be interpreted as a fantasy story that makes "internal sense", but Chiru makes a point to break free from that and get closer to the truth. If you accept fantasy, EP1 - EP4 Gaap is meant to be a demon that shops in Hell and shit. Beato is meant to be a thousand year old witch with a long history of visiting other fragments and universes and taking part in countless witch games. But Chiru makes a point to expose even this fantasy layer as a metaphor, revealing that Virgilia was never a real witch even within the meta, Gaap was created by a young Yasu even within the meta, and Beato evolved from Yasu even within the meta.

Chiru shifts from a "fantasy - non-fantasy" setup to a "metaphorical - mystery novel" one. That's the point. The meta narrative of the second half is not meant to fully make sense with the fantasy narrative of the first half. Chiru is openly metaphorical, while everything pre-Chiru makes sense as a fantasy story with proper magical lore and shit.

Give this a read, these posts explained it perfectly:

Basically, in the fantasy side, you are meant to believe that Beatrice's magical explanations, lore, her friends, the demons, the magic toxin, and everything else makes sense as a whole. By Chiru, though, all of that is revealed to be a lie and you get characters like Dlanor, who are living embodiments of 19th century mystery rules that come from Heaven. That shit is intentionally ridiculous and nonsensical, unlike Gaap or Virgilia who could easily be part of a fantasy story and make sense as magical creatures that come from their own worlds.

So I think Chiru is amazing, but the question arcs are really interesting as a fantasy and nobody appreciates the magical lore enough.

I wonder how much Umineko fanart is being lost forever every single week to random autistic Pixiv purges.
