Given that the average core temperature of an adult human is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit unless the fetus in question was able to maintain its core temperature to be roughly in that area it would die, quite rapidly, in fact. Amniotic fluid or not. But since the fetus in question is not human, it would be able to survive in the mother's womb indefinitely because the puerile biological machinations of the human body are beneath its notice. Granted, it makes cold-based monsters a little more terrifying because when suffering severe hypothermia, your judgment becomes cloudy and you tend to do stuff like fall asleep, which leads to cardiac arrest and death.
