Hana was having trouble now; the bullets were flying relentlessly and even though Marisa was still on the ‘defense’ as it were. It was taking all of Hana’s concentration just to keep in the air and keep dodging even with her advantage of her ability. Despite her strange movements that would unnerve the inaba from earlier she remembered that the strong are simply different like how Eirin and Kaguya seemed to be able to track her just fine. Marisa seemed to get a grasp on her movements as well.

Well, that wasn’t exactly true, it was more like Marisa could mostly guess where she’d head to and let Hana fall into a routine. Then she’d pull the rug from under her with streams of merciless bullets that would start and stop in short order to track her down. She hadn’t even used any new spell cards just yet which worried her.

Still, even if Marisa were pull out a final spark or something she could dodge it as long as she knew it was coming! Well, that’s what she thought at least, Marisa shouted out something as she pulled out a spell card decorated with two hakerro sitting on a large star, “Double magic, Duospark!”

The fucking what?! It was at that moment that Hana realized something about the grimoire Marisa gave her to study. It was old, nearly as old as her. Naturally, Marisa came up with new moves and cards in the meantime, it wasn’t like incidents stopped happening in recent years. They may have gotten a bit sparser but that’s all.

Hana learned the meaning of ‘improvement’ as Marisa became surrounded in blinding light. Like looking into a sun comprised of the colors of the rainbow Marisa summoned waves and waves of those large herding stars around her.

However, they didn’t venture forth, not yet, like a flash she vanished to the side as she did it again in the span of a second. To cover her movements smaller stars showered the field like a typhoon forcing Hana to continually dodge without rest, even her strange movements didn’t allow her a moments rest.

She could go to where the bullets weren’t, that was easy. What if there were nowhere bullets weren’t? What if they were always falling and never giving her a chance to rest? Hana was already out of breath, and that was before those two balls of rainbow light burst forth. The waves crisscrossed in all directions cutting off all escape routes and Hana regretted losing her composure and taunting her teacher so much.

In a last desperate gambit, she made her world go wide, looking into the distance behind her mentor as she tried to throw off her aim. Barely able to keep all but the heat of the bullets off of her. That was hardly the end, those smaller stars and herding bullets were just a ploy to keep her busy.

The real show began when Marisa took out her second furnace, a thin beam of light erupted… erupted…? No that wasn’t right, it was just the tracer. A sudden wide and bright light erupted where she was just a second ago, it took all her focus just to find a path into the beam that could even avoid it.

She tried to appear above the witch and do anything to gain some reprieve by finding a blind spot in between the waves of thick and clogging bullets. However there was no safe space, and before Hana even finished moving Marisa was already raising her Hakkero up and it was emitting a thin tracer beam as the other was just finishing.

Hana’s world went white
