From my experience at creating and attending anime clubs, the officers and their cadre are the ones that influence the "behavioural style". If you have a bad club, then you have bad officers.

The clubs we had did a lot to introduce people to each other as well as participate in campus or city events. The first university club I was a co-founder of went on in the next ten years that I followed it (from afar) did quite a few things from holding classes on subtitling, to making their own voiced dubs, and even rented out a movie theatre multiple times to show one of the current anime movies at that time.

Another club held anime art events as among us were enough collectors of originals and elaborate layered cels that we could fill an art gallery with a free-to-the-public exhibition. That was the one a Pioneer vice-president came to visit bearing many gifts.

Another anime club did a number of things mentioned above. All the clubs promoted anime in the towns they were in, including printing up duplicate flyers for anime cons and making sure certain places such as comic book stores and libraries had information and/or flyers for interested people to pick up.

Most clubs have soda and munchies. The last two I was with had that funded by the student body government. If you have a good plan, and seem to be someone that can build up a group of people to carry it out, then the powers that be will support you.
